Bernard Vishnick, Senior Partner of Vishnick McGovern
Milizio’s Litigation Practice group, has over 40 years
of experience in various areas of litigation, with
specific expertise in Trusts and Estates. His extensive
litigation background includes Will contests, both for
and against the probate of the Last Will and Testament;
accounting proceedings; defense or removal of fiduciary
and other fiduciary related proceedings; discovery and
turnover proceedings of Estate property; defense of and
removal of Trustees of Trusts; rights of various parties
to assets of, or formally belonging to, the decedent;
and a myriad of other Trusts and Estates and Supreme
Court-related matters. Mr. Vishnick also acts as
Executor and Trustee of significant Estates and Trusts.
Well known in the professional and judiciary community
for his particular expertise, Mr. Vishnick acts as
counsel to members of the judiciary, colleagues and
fellow attorneys, both for the protection of their
individual interests, as well as for representation of
their clients in complex litigation involving Trusts and
Estates. He has represented both attorneys and litigants
in various other states, having been admitted to the
Courts of each such state by special application.
Mr. Vishnick is a member of the New York State Bar
Association, the Nassau County Bar Association and the
Queens County Bar Association, at which he serves as
Vice Chair of the Grievance Committee, as a member of
the Judiciary Committee and as Chair of the Unlawful
Practice Committee. He is also a member of the New York
State 11th Judicial District Qualification Commission
for those seeking positions of the judiciary. Other
professional service includes membership in the Nassau
County Bar Association Estates and Trusts Litigation
Committee. He is also a member of the Flushing Lawyers
Association and Great Neck Lawyers Association and is
Vice President of Brandeis Lawyers Association.
Mr. Vishnick has lectured before the New York State Bar
Association, Queens County Bar Association, numerous
committees and sub-committees of the Nassau County Bar
Association including its Trusts and Estates Committee;
the International Association of Financial Planners, the
New York Attorneys Association, bank institutions and
various major brokerage firms located throughout the
United States and abroad.
A crusader against the destructive nature of prejudice,
hatred, apathy, and violence against all minorities, Mr.
Vishnick serves as a director of the Holocaust Memorial
and Tolerance Center of Nassau County.
Mr. Vishnick graduated from New York University in 1962
and received his LLB from New York Law School in 1965.
He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York.
