Joseph Trotti, a Partner in the Litigation Practice
Group at Vishnick McGovern Milizio LLP, concentrates his
practice in the areas of family and matrimonial law and
litigation, commercial litigation, including commercial
real estate litigation and estate litigation. His family
law and matrimonial practice includes the preparation of
pre and post-nuptial agreements, adoption, child support
and custody arrangements, separation and divorce. Mr.
Trotti has extensive experience working with LGBT
individuals and partners on family and matrimonial law
matters as well.
Mr. Trotti is a member of the New York State Bar
Association Family Law Section, the Queens County Bar
Association, serving on its Family Law Committee; the
Nassau County Bar Association, the Latino Lawyers Bar
Association, the Nassau County Columbian Lawyers
Association and the Women’s Bar Association.
A firm believer in pro bono work, Mr. Trotti is a member
of the Nassau County Supreme Court Matrimonial Pro Bono
Panel and the Queens County Civil and Supreme Court Pro
Bono panel. His support for charitable organizations
includes NY Families for Autistic Children, the Multiple
Sclerosis Fundraising Committee and Child Abuse
Prevention Services Fundraising Committee. Active in his
community, Mr. Trotti serves on the board and as legal
counsel of the Forest Hills Youth Activities
Association, and is also a delegate to that
organization’s soccer league. He is a member of the
Forest Hills Gardens Board of Directors and serves as
Legal Chair for the Forest Hills Gardens Corporation.
Dedicated to educational reform, he is President of the
Board of the Community Education Council, an
organization that seeks to expand opportunities for
parents to take a leadership role in the reform of New
York City’s public schools. In that role Mr. Trotti
oversees school curriculum, budget concerns, special
education, and safety issues.
Mr. Trotti received his Juris Doctor in 1983 from St.
John’s University School of Law. He received his
Bachelors Degree in Political Science from Queens
College in 1980.
Mr. Trotti is admitted to practice law in the State of
New York.
